Your computer is hanging. Same old Windows, right? Except you’re using a brand new Windows 8.x or Windows 10 device; you’ve only had it a few days. So just what is going on?

Investigating, you discover that your system drive is running at 100%. Surely this can’t be right? Sadly, it is. The latest versions of Windows have a problem with the drives being over worked, which slows down the operating system. This issue affects both hard disk drives (HDDs) and solid state drives (SSDs).

Several fixes are available for this, depending upon what exactly is causing the problem.

  1. i clicked the end task button on SysMain and it stopped it from being used up so much. But i wanna know if i was able to do that or if i just screwed something up

  2. I have repeatedly corrected this problem even after 2 months this problem has not been resolved in any way or in this video someone help me!!!!!!!

  3. I had that issue and I almost fixed it. My laptop is 6 years old. But It is i7 and 6 gb of ram. According to what I've read, old hdd hardisks are weak to handle today softwares. So, it is better to stay with old "operating system". The 100% diskusage happened to me a lot on windows 10, so i thought there's something wrong with that. This is a role, the best opearting system is that comes with the laptop its self, which is windows 8.1 in my case. So, I formated my laptop back to windows 8.1 home, not pro, because pro versions are having more featuers you don't need, also Old hardware can't handle them. This is my advice and I hope it helps you. Now my hardisk usage hits 100%, but when I check task manager I figuerd that the secuirty program is running a scan or there's a real pressure on the hardisk, now it makes sense.

  4. I also had a 100% disk activity problem, just stopping and disabling Windows search did the job. now the system runs much batter, and disc activity shows actual status depending on the activity going on. Thank you very much.

  5. Hey guys. I need some help. I'm getting this error in my pc. It shows 100% on the disc in the task manager and the pc reboots after a few seconds. It's now to the point that I can't even get to my desktop and use the command tab, like shown in this video.
After turning on the pc it keeps rebooting and rebooting, and so, not letting me get to my desktop.
    I really need some help.
